Ruby The Red

Specially selected red sansyo / Japanese pepper.

RUBY THE RED is a homemade spice, produced by Kamiya since 2011.

 

Bright-red sansyo is grown in Miyama at the end of summer.

Compared with common peppers, the ripened red sansyo has a more aromatic taste. It’s simply tasty!

Red sansyo are hard to find, as only a handful farmers grow the ripened sansyo, even in Miyama. Ripened red sansyo, “RUBY THE RED” is of the highest quality, and one of the most wonderful spices in Japan.

 

You can use “RUBY THE RED” for various dishes and desserts:

grilled chicken, steak, grilled fish, grilled vegetables, pasta, various kinds of soups and stews, pickles, ice cream, chocolate, etc.

 

One sprinkle of “RUBY THE RED,” gives a truly unique taste sensation.

Ripe Red Sansyo

After hand picking,

sansyo is dried in the sun

Then, separated into seed,

stem, and peel.

"Sansyo Pepper 'Sansyo Boogie'

 

A versatile seasoning made by combining freshly picked Japanese pepper, chili peppers, and salt in early summer. It serves as a condiment, seasoning, and spice.

 

The refreshing aroma of Japanese pepper and the pleasant numbing sensation, along with the spiciness of chili peppers, spread throughout. 

 

When added to various dishes such as meat, fish, sashimi, grilled meats, tofu dishes, carpaccio, fried chicken, ramen, and more, it transforms the flavor into something rich and aromatic. Mixing it with soy sauce, barbecue sauce, mayonnaise, olive oil, dressings, etc., enhances the delightful sensation.

 

It also tastes great when spread on toasted bread with butter or honey.

Japanese pepper (domestically grown) * No pesticides used during cultivation

Salt (naturally sun-dried salt from France)

Chili peppers (domestically grown) * No pesticides used during cultivation

 

Weight: 85g (including 30g of Sansho pepper)

Store in a cool, dark place, avoiding high temperatures and humidity. We do not use any additives, so we recommend refrigerating or freezing after opening for longer enjoyment of the flavor and spiciness.
